According to the World Health Organization the most common diseases in Ghana include: cholera, typhoid, pulmonary tuberculosis, anthrax, pertussis, tetanus, yellow fever, measles, hepatitis, malaria, and schistosomiasis.
According to the Ghana Health Service, malaria is the most common cause of premature death in the nation. Seventy percent of deaths among children under five years of age is caused by an infectious disease and malnutrition.
Strong Roots Health and Wellness is a community based health center that fights to prevent infectious diseases and premature deaths by promoting proper nutrition, providing primary care services and facilitating health education classes for families.
We envision healthy vibrant rural communities free from premature deaths, caused by infectious diseases, child malnutrition, and alcoholism.
